Welcome to Miller School. We are a K-6 community of about 360 students and 70 staff members who work together to help all children learn. Miller is a nut-free school located in Waldoboro in beautiful mid-coast Maine. The community earns a living through diverse occupations, including clamming and lobstering.

At Miller we strive to be a respectful school where everyone feels safe and welcome and can do his or her best. We use the principles of Responsive Classroom to teach the social curriculum, build community, and improve academics.

Our goals for the 2007-2008 school year include continuing to implement strategies to differentiate instruction for students using data from the NWEA assessment to inform instruction, improve student achievement in math, and continue efforts to decrease bullying in our school.

Volunteers are welcome to do a variety of tasks from listening to students read, chaperoning field trips, and assisting in the classroom.  If you are interested and haven’t already completed a volunteer form, please contact the school office.
