From the  Principal’s Desk

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those outside organizations and businesses that support our school.  It is especially evident during our graduation when so many community organizations support our graduates with scholarships.  I know that the graduates are really  thankful.
On Wednesday May 21 at 6:30 pm we will be holding our academic awards ceremony.  There are many different awards presented by our teachers in addition to outside awards. This has always been a very special evening for me as principal.  It is a chance to honor many of our students in areas such as drama, science, photography, horticulture, math, foreign languages, English, and history to name a few.  Oh, did I mention the perfect attendance award?  Imagine students who have been at school every day with no tardiness, early dismissals, or absences.  That is quite a feat.
This year marks the 40th commencement of Medomak Valley.  I am sure many remember the first graduation that was held at the new high school.  It is my hope that the next forty graduations will be just as exciting and memorable as the first forty.
On May 31st at 1 pm in the Medomak Valley High School gymnasium, an MSAD#40 district budget meeting will be held.  There will be eleven articles for the voters to act upon.  Those articles are written in a manner that  allows the dollar amount in each article to be reduced but not increased.  At the conclusion of the meeting a budget for the 2008-2009 school year will be passed.  This budget will then have to be ratified at the polls on June 10th in each town.  The ballot will consist of one question which asks you to vote yes or no on the budget that was adopted at the May 31st  district budget meeting.  I would encourage all residents to exercise their constitutional right by attending the meeting and voting at the ballot box on June 10th.
