From the Principal's Desk
Andrew J. Cavanaugh, Principal Medomak Valley High School
Dear Students, Staff and Parents,I want to welcome everyone to the 2016-17 school year! I am entering my seventeenth year at Medomak Valley and I am very excited about the new school year for a variety of reasons. Most importantly, I look forward to working with our staff, parents and students to provide our young people with a “safe and academically engaging environment that prepares students for lifelong learning, meaningful employment, civic responsibility, and global awareness in the 21st Century,” our school’s mission.
At Medomak Valley we believe that a school with high academic standards coupled with both exciting co-curricular clubs and competitive extracurricular athletics provides the best foundation for student success. In that spirit we provide an impressive number of course offerings in eight different academic content areas. The number of co-curricular clubs we offer continues to grow, and with the addition of our highly successful varsity football team, it’s fair to say we have something for everyone! I strongly encourage all students to get involved by joining a club, playing a sport, attending school dances; in general, participate in those positive activities that will strengthen their connection with our school, because we know those students who take ownership of their education are among our most successful students.
On behalf of everyone at Medomak Valley High School, I wish everyone a great year!
