Course Objectives

The three main objectives of the course are:

1. Learn the methodology used by Biologists

2. Learn some of the more important concepts of Biological Systems

3. Prepare students for university study

Other important objectives are:

I. Learn to think critically: Evaluating information and drawing conclusions from data.

II. Communicate in a technical manner: This means using the proper vocabulary of the discipline (both the spoken and the written words). This also means being clear and concise - saying what you mean in the fewest words possible without losing your precise meaning.

III. Working as a member of a team: In real life, you seldom are fortunate enough to choose all of your co-workers. It is important that you be able to work with anyone else in the class.
