Medomak Valley High School held its annual Science Fair last Thursday, March 16th in the gym. More than 90 projects were on display and were judged by local scientists and science educators. Students were judged in six categories based on their class.


In Honors Biology, first place went to Josh Curry, second to Alison Cornforth, third to Julie Erickson and honorable mention to Hannah Goodwin.

In the College Prep singles category Maria Street won first, Abby Olson second and Kiara Weber third place.

In College Prep doubles, first place was awarded to Sam Nevins and Ben Ledger, second to Tim Neptune and Matt Poulin, third to Mary Beaster and Kelly Ferrier and honorable mention to Jacob Hyler and Chris Taylor.

In the Tech Prep singles category Zach Pease won first place, Becky Darling 2nd and Josh Ward 3rd.

In Tech Prep doubles, first place was a tie between Brandi Dinsmore & Chynna Wentworth and CJ Collamore and Tyler Wadford and second place was awarded to Georgiana Flynn and Stephanie Fowles.

In the Physics category, Tom Goodwin won first, Erin Sweeney won second, Megan Mole took third and James Merrifield won honorable mention. Some of Medomak’s students will be taking their projects to Orono in May to compete in the State Science Fair.
